In case any of you are interested, Don Melhado (Saguaro Velo and USCF Regional Coordinator) has asked if anyone could help work this Sunday's time trial. You can still race the event, but normally you would go off after everyone else. It is for a good cause since SV supports junior riders with the money they make. I plan on working the start line then riding the 40k. There are various jobs (holders, starter, whip, turn-around) and I or Don can fill you in on what you would be doing. You can e-mail him directly at dmelhado@cox.net. If you don't plan on riding but want to help, then you can work the turn around (easy but lonely job) to keep riders safe from on-coming traffic. In order to keep racing alive in AZ, we should all try to support by riding and working events when we can. Plus when it comes time for OPV to put on events and make some money for the club, we would have some practical experience.

Pete/Wayne,
Cool - I will drop Don a line letting him know that you guys are willing to volunteer. Here is what I have -

2. Wayne will work and ride the 40k.

Hey Rich,
Thanks for organzing the volunteers and being the go between with us and Don. I also tried to e-mail about a time to be there to volunteer. I guess 0500 hrs is early enough. If I don't have to work I will volunteer and ride the 20k. You can put me down as a maybe. Thanks again and great job at the state race.

Thanks guys for volunteering - awesome response. I believe we should have more than enough to support Don and Saguaro Velo. I am waiting for an e-mail from him telling us exactly how many he needs and what we will be doing. My guess is he won't need us all but is happy that we turned out in numbers to support. Here is who I have:
Wayne - 40k Pete - not riding maybe Ywaine - 20K Rich S. - 40k Rich G - 40k |

I received an e-mail from Don and he has Wayne Moore and I at the start line and Peter at the turn around. We need to be there around 6:15 but I'll be there earlier to get my bike squared away before the start.
Unless Don sent an separate e-mail to Ywaine and Rich S, I think he has enough guys this go around but I asked him to confirm anyways. Thanks again for offering your services. See you out there.
