New sunday ride option for those who are plannning on riding in the El Tour this year or for those who just want to ride longer distances. I would like to start at Udall Park or some where close to there preferably on the northeast corner. For this sunday 09/07 meet at Udall at 0600 hrs. The route will be from udall head north on sabino canyon rd. to sunrise rd., head west on surise/skyline/ina rd. to oracle rd., head north on oracle to (oro valley) first ave., head west on first ave which will turn into rancho vistoso rd., stay on hear to oracle. We will be able to refill water at the shell at oracle and vistoso. Due to construction near catalina state park, we have to take this detour on first ave. We can then decide to either add more miles (about 10 miles) and head up oracle to saddlebrooke or turn around and head back on vistoso and retrace our steps. This loop is approx. 60 miles and 70 miles with saddlebrooke thrown in. This will be a moderate pace with some paceline on parts where we can paceline for a while. Those who must atttack please attack on the hills because it is hard to keep everyone together on a hill anyway. We will regroup at the top i.e. easy pedal till everyone is on. The sprint board out will be before the last light on Rancho Vistoso which is close to the turn aroound point of the shell station. If anyone is interested please reply or call me at 241-5368. I am planning on riding this route unless I have to go to work. We will also be establishing an eastride option for the El Tour route and eventually ,before 11/22 ,ride the whole route. Lets try and get all our members out to this ride so we can help and encourage the whole club into doing the best they can. So, if you know other members that don't always check out the forum let them know the plan. By the way I will be starting from my house on the northside and meet the group somewhere on sunrise. If anyone wants to jump in somewhere on the route, go for it. Hope to see you there. Ywaine

Maybe we can create a link "Tucson Rides" on the web page with maps of the various rides we do? I had one with a group of fellas I used to ride with: http://www.richardhorn.com/megahurtz.html A click on the named ride brings up the details. Just a thought.

I'd like to ride from my house and time it so I meet up with you people at Swan/Sunrise. I will break off from the group in Catalina as I need to go all the way to Oracle to put in some miles. If anyone is up for it they can join me. I hope to then be riding out to Pistol Hill, after I get back from Oracle, to put in the extra 50 miles. What time do you guys think you will be at Swan/Sunrise? -Mr. Horn

Hey everyone,
Yea, 0630 hrs is a good start time. So udall at 0630 hrs. You should be at swan and sunrise at 0650 or 0700. I am headed to work so I'll miss the shoot out but hope to be back for the new group ride. I'll ride to you guys and try to keep in touch by phone. My number 520 241 5368.
Rich, I'll go with you to oracle since I live in catalina. Hope I make it this should be fun ride. If anyone is headed to the shoot out let the other members know about the ride on sunday. Moderate pace.
The gaba's have a ride starting at udall at 0625 but I don't know which way they are headed.
See ya, Ywaine.
